Pride 2026: A Q+ Celebration

Here at Q+, we don’t wait for June to start waving our flags. We celebrate queerness every day of the year—in the stories we cover, the creators we champion, and the community that continues to inspire us. But when Pride Month arrives? Well, that’s when we turn the volume all the way up. So welcome to our Pride 2026 celebration!

For the fourth year in a row, we’re spending the entire month of June doing one of our favorite traditions. If you joined us for Pride 2023, Pride 2024, or Pride 2025, you already know the drill: every single day of Pride Month, we’ll be highlighting one LGBTQ+ film, one LGBTQ+ TV show, and one LGBTQ+ book that we think deserve a spot on your watchlist, bookshelf, or comfort-media rotation. Some of these picks are brand new, some are hidden gems, and some are beloved classics we’ll happily recommend over and over again. But all of them tell queer stories that matter.

By the time June 30 rolls around, you’ll have 90 LGBTQ+ recommendations to explore. That’s 30 films, 30 TV shows, and 30 books celebrating our community in all its joy, heartbreak, resilience, messiness, romance, and brilliance. Whether you’re looking to laugh, cry, scream into a pillow, fall in love, or simply feel seen, we’ve got something for you.

Now, as we were putting together this year’s list, though, we noticed something that deserves a conversation of its own. While we had no shortage of incredible books and films to choose from, finding 30 television series that hadn’t already appeared in previous years proved noticeably harder. Since launching this celebration in 2023, we’ve spotlighted dozens upon dozens of queer shows, and for the first time, we found ourselves confronting a simple reality: there still aren’t enough of them.

That’s not because LGBTQ+ television isn’t thriving creatively. Some of the most exciting and impactful stories on TV today are queer stories. The challenge is that there simply aren’t enough of them. Despite years of progress, queer series are still canceled too quickly, struggle to secure renewals, or never get the chance to exist in the first place. Representation matters not only because audiences deserve to see themselves reflected on screen, but because a healthy, sustainable ecosystem of queer storytelling requires continued investment, support, and opportunities to grow.

In a way, that realization makes this year’s celebration feel even more important. Every recommendation on this list is a reminder of why these stories deserve to exist—and why we need even more of them.

A couple of quick notes before we get started: if your favorite title doesn’t appear on this year’s list, don’t panic. It may have already been featured in one of our previous Pride celebrations, it could be coming later this month, or we simply couldn’t squeeze everything we love into 30 days. Trust us, narrowing these lists down is never easy. We should also acknowledge one small technicality: this year’s lineup includes a title that longtime readers may recognize from a previous Pride celebration. We have a perfectly reasonable explanation, and all will be revealed in due time. Some of y’all may already know exactly which one we’re talking about.

But anygays, we’ll be updating this article every single day throughout Pride Month, so be sure to keep checking back for new recommendations. And if you haven’t already, make sure you’re following Q+ across our platforms so you never miss a single pick.

So grab your rainbow snacks, clear some space on your watchlist, and prepare to add far too many books to your TBR. Pride 2026 is officially underway, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.

Happy Pride, fam. 🏳️‍🌈🫶

June 1

10DANCE

Some love stories begin with a chance encounter; 10DANCE begins with a rivalry. Based on the manga of the same name, this Netflix film follows two competitive dancers from very different disciplines, Shinya Suzuki (Ryoma Takeuchi) and Shinya Sugiki (Keita Machida), who agree to help each other master styles outside their comfort zones. Naturally, spending countless hours training together turns out to be a very effective way to complicate both their professional ambitions and their personal lives.

What makes 10DANCE stand out is the way it uses dance as both a spectacle and a language. The film’s most memorable moments aren’t always the ones where the characters speak, but the ones where movement says everything words can’t. Every rehearsal, competition, and dance sequence becomes part of a larger conversation about trust, vulnerability, attraction, and the walls we build around ourselves.

Visually stunning (like seriously stunning) and packed with chemistry, 10DANCE is the kind of romance that sweeps you up from the very first routine. It’s sexy, emotional, and impossible to look away from, making it a perfect Pride Month watch for anyone who loves stories where passion and personal growth go hand in hand.

Where to watch? 10DANCE is available to stream on Netflix.

Heated Rivalry

If you’ve spent even five minutes in queer spaces online (or any space online, honestly) over the past 7 months, chances are you’ve heard someone screaming and crying about Heated Rivalry. And honestly? We get it, we’ve been talking about this show nonstop. Based on Rachel Reid’s beloved novel of the same name, the series follows professional hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two bitter rivals on the ice whose secret relationship spans years behind the scenes. What starts as a casual hookup neither of them can quite explain slowly evolves into one of the most compelling love stories currently on television.

What makes Heated Rivalry so special isn’t just the chemistry between its leads—although trust us, there’s plenty of that. It’s the way the series balances swoon-worthy romance with the very real pressures that come with existing in a world that isn’t always ready for queer athletes. The show understands that grand declarations are important, but so are the quiet moments: stolen glances, private conversations, and the gradual realization that one person has become your entire world.

Whether you’re here for the hockey, the romance, the angst, or the endless supply of Ilya and Shane quotes currently taking over social media, Heated Rivalry delivers. It’s emotional, funny, devastating when it needs to be, and ultimately a celebration of love refusing to stay hidden. There couldn’t be a better way to kick off Pride Month than by watching or rewatching (for the umpteenth time) this amazing Canadian production.

Where to watch? Heated Rivalry is available to stream on Crave (Canada), HBO Max (U.S. & Other Regions), Sky (New Zealand, UK), and Movistar Plus+ (Spain).

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid

Before it became television’s latest obsession, Heated Rivalry (the second book in the Game Changers series) was the book that had MM romance readers recommending it to absolutely everyone they knew. Rachel Reid’s novel introduces us to Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, rival hockey superstars whose secret relationship develops over years of chance encounters, impossible timing, and feelings neither of them is prepared to confront.

While the TV adaptation expands the story and gives us the chance to spend more time in this world, there’s something uniquely special about experiencing Shane and Ilya’s journey on the page. Reid’s novel drops us directly into their heads, allowing us to feel every frustration, every longing glance, and every moment where they realize this is becoming much more than a casual arrangement. The result is a romance that feels deeply intimate, even as it unfolds against the massive backdrop of professional sports.

When reading, it’s easy to see why this book became such a phenomenon. Few romances manage to be this funny, this emotional, this romantic, and this endlessly rereadable all at once. Whether you’ve already fallen in love with the TV series or you’re looking to discover where it all began, Heated Rivalry remains one of the defining queer romance novels of the modern era.

Where to buy? Heated Rivalry is available to purchase at all reputable booksellers.
