Pride 2026: A Q+ Celebration
June 1

10DANCE
Some love stories begin with a chance encounter; 10DANCE begins with a rivalry. Based on the manga of the same name, this Netflix film follows two competitive dancers from very different disciplines, Shinya Suzuki (Ryoma Takeuchi) and Shinya Sugiki (Keita Machida), who agree to help each other master styles outside their comfort zones. Naturally, spending countless hours training together turns out to be a very effective way to complicate both their professional ambitions and their personal lives.
What makes 10DANCE stand out is the way it uses dance as both a spectacle and a language. The film’s most memorable moments aren’t always the ones where the characters speak, but the ones where movement says everything words can’t. Every rehearsal, competition, and dance sequence becomes part of a larger conversation about trust, vulnerability, attraction, and the walls we build around ourselves.
Visually stunning (like seriously stunning) and packed with chemistry, 10DANCE is the kind of romance that sweeps you up from the very first routine. It’s sexy, emotional, and impossible to look away from, making it a perfect Pride Month watch for anyone who loves stories where passion and personal growth go hand in hand.
Where to watch? 10DANCE is available to stream on Netflix.
Heated Rivalry
If you’ve spent even five minutes in queer spaces online (or any space online, honestly) over the past 7 months, chances are you’ve heard someone screaming and crying about Heated Rivalry. And honestly? We get it, we’ve been talking about this show nonstop. Based on Rachel Reid’s beloved novel of the same name, the series follows professional hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two bitter rivals on the ice whose secret relationship spans years behind the scenes. What starts as a casual hookup neither of them can quite explain slowly evolves into one of the most compelling love stories currently on television.

What makes Heated Rivalry so special isn’t just the chemistry between its leads—although trust us, there’s plenty of that. It’s the way the series balances swoon-worthy romance with the very real pressures that come with existing in a world that isn’t always ready for queer athletes. The show understands that grand declarations are important, but so are the quiet moments: stolen glances, private conversations, and the gradual realization that one person has become your entire world.
Whether you’re here for the hockey, the romance, the angst, or the endless supply of Ilya and Shane quotes currently taking over social media, Heated Rivalry delivers. It’s emotional, funny, devastating when it needs to be, and ultimately a celebration of love refusing to stay hidden. There couldn’t be a better way to kick off Pride Month than by watching or rewatching (for the umpteenth time) this amazing Canadian production.
Where to watch? Heated Rivalry is available to stream on Crave (Canada), HBO Max (U.S. & Other Regions), Sky (New Zealand, UK), and Movistar Plus+ (Spain).

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid
Before it became television’s latest obsession, Heated Rivalry (the second book in the Game Changers series) was the book that had MM romance readers recommending it to absolutely everyone they knew. Rachel Reid’s novel introduces us to Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, rival hockey superstars whose secret relationship develops over years of chance encounters, impossible timing, and feelings neither of them is prepared to confront.
While the TV adaptation expands the story and gives us the chance to spend more time in this world, there’s something uniquely special about experiencing Shane and Ilya’s journey on the page. Reid’s novel drops us directly into their heads, allowing us to feel every frustration, every longing glance, and every moment where they realize this is becoming much more than a casual arrangement. The result is a romance that feels deeply intimate, even as it unfolds against the massive backdrop of professional sports.
When reading, it’s easy to see why this book became such a phenomenon. Few romances manage to be this funny, this emotional, this romantic, and this endlessly rereadable all at once. Whether you’ve already fallen in love with the TV series or you’re looking to discover where it all began, Heated Rivalry remains one of the defining queer romance novels of the modern era.
Where to buy? Heated Rivalry is available to purchase at all reputable booksellers.
