Pride 2026: A Q+ Celebration

So Very Lucky by Caitlin Devlin
What if your first love became one of the most famous people on the planet? And what if, years after losing her, you started to suspect she wasn’t who everyone thought she was? That’s the deliciously strange premise at the heart of Caitlin Devlin’s So Very Lucky, a queer thriller that blends celebrity culture, conspiracy theories, and second-chance romance into something that’s incredibly difficult to put down.
The story follows Stevie, whose ex-girlfriend Callie has transformed from the girl she once knew into global pop phenomenon Calista. When Calista seemingly dies during a concert before mysteriously reappearing, Stevie becomes convinced that something isn’t right. As she gets pulled back into her ex’s orbit, the line between reality and obsession begins to blur, forcing her to question everything she thinks she knows about the woman she once loved.
Part mystery, part romance, and part commentary on our fascination with celebrity culture, So Very Lucky is the kind of book that keeps you turning pages long after you promised yourself you’d stop. If you’ve ever fallen down an internet conspiracy rabbit hole or wondered how well we can truly know the people we love, this one deserves a spot on your Pride Month reading list.
Where to buy? So Very Lucky is available to purchase at all reputable booksellers.
I Wish You All the Best
Some films announce their importance from the very beginning. I Wish You All the Best takes a quieter approach, inviting us into the life of Ben (Corey Fogelmanis), a nonbinary teenager whose world is turned upside down after coming out to their parents. What follows is a deeply personal journey about finding support, building community, and learning that family can sometimes come from the people who choose to stand beside us.

One of the film’s greatest strengths is its refusal to reduce Ben to their struggles. While it doesn’t shy away from the realities of rejection and uncertainty, it also makes space for friendship, romance, humor, and healing. The result is a coming-of-age story that feels refreshingly human, allowing its characters to exist as full people rather than symbols or lessons.
Adapted from Mason Deaver’s beloved novel, I Wish You All the Best feels like a milestone in queer storytelling—not because it tries to be loud or groundbreaking, but because it trusts the power of simply telling a nonbinary story with care, compassion, and authenticity. It’s tender, hopeful, and exactly the kind of film we wish we’d had growing up.
Where to watch? I Wish You All The Best is available to stream on Prime Video and Hulu (both with the Starz premium subscription/add-on), or VOD.

Boots
If somebody told us we’d end up emotionally invested in a military dramedy about a queer boy who decides to join the Marines in the 1980s to follow his best friend, we’d probably have needed some convincing. And yet, Boots manages to pull it off with surprising ease. Set during the final years of the ban on LGBTQ+ people serving in the military, the series follows 18-year-old Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer) as he navigates friendship, ambition, identity, and a system that wasn’t built to welcome him at all.
What makes Boots a good watch is its ability to balance humor with history. The show never loses sight of the challenges its characters face, but it also understands that queer people have always found ways to laugh, flirt, make mistakes, and build community even in difficult circumstances. The result is a series that feels both educational and deeply entertaining.
Packed with heart, sharp writing, and a cast you’ll quickly become attached to, Boots is a reminder that queer history isn’t just about the battles we fought—it’s also about the lives we lived while fighting them. It’s funny, moving, and exactly the kind of show we hope inspires even more stories about the generations who came before us.
Where to watch? Boots is available to stream on Netflix.
