‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2 Trailer Teases Grief, Growth, and New Beginnings Ahead of Netflix Return
Ahead of its May 28 global release, Netflix has dropped the official trailer for The Four Seasons Season 2, and let’s just say, we’re already emotionally packing our bags.
Season 2, which, like its predecessor, will consist of eight 30-minute episodes, picks up right after the tragic events of Season 1. Our core group—Kate (Tina Fey), Jack (Will Forte), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver)—returns, now joined fully by Ginny (Erika Henningsen), who’s navigating life with hers and Nick’s (Steve Carell) upcoming baby. Together, they continue their long-standing tradition of vacationing as a group, this time with a much heavier emotional carry-on: honoring Nick’s memory while figuring out how to move forward without him.

For those who might need a quick refresher, The Four Seasons began with three couples whose friendships were built around shared vacations marking life’s biggest milestones. That dynamic was shaken when Nick revealed his plans to divorce Anne, eventually introducing Ginny—his much younger girlfriend—into the group. What followed was a series of increasingly complicated trips that exposed cracks not only in their friendships but in their own relationships. By the end of the season, tragedy struck when Nick unexpectedly passed away, leaving the group grieving and forever changed, and with Ginny now permanently part of their lives as she announced she was pregnant with Nick’s baby.
Season 2 leans into that emotional aftermath. According to the official synopsis, “Coming off a hard year, our group of friends carries on their tradition of vacationing together—now with a baby in tow. The Four Seasons picks back up with the core group […] as they journey from the familiar comforts of the Jersey shore and upstate New York to the stunning landscapes of Italy. With warmth and wit, personal blind spots surface for the group as they each grieve their late friend and embark on new adventures.”
And yes, while the grief is very much the heart behind this season, the trailer also reminds us why we fell in love with this show in the first place. There’s chaos, there’s tension, there’s awkward honesty, and there’s growth. We also get a glimpse at what’s ahead for Danny and Claude (our favorite couple), with a certain conversation that might just change everything for them. We won’t spoil it, but let’s just say… we’re seated.

Behind the scenes, the series continues to be helmed by an impressive creative team. Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield all return as co-creators, co-showrunners, executive producers, and writers, with Fisher and Fey also directing select episodes alongside Wigfield, Colman Domingo, Shari Springer Berman, and Robert Pulcini. Executive producers include David Miner, Jeff Richmond, and Eric Gurian, with Alan Alda and Marissa Bregman serving as producers. The main cast reprises their roles, led by Fey, Forte, Kenney-Silver, Calvani, Henningsen, and Domingo.
With a mix of grief, humor, and the kind of messy, evolving relationships we can’t get enough of, Season 2 of The Four Seasons looks ready to take us on another unforgettable journey. And honestly? Our bags are packed, our passports are ready, and we’re just counting down the days until May 28 so we can travel right alongside them.
