Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi Is Coming to Netflix This July
As excited as we are for Heartstopper Forever, it turns out we won’t have to say goodbye to Nick, Charlie, and the world of Heartstopper just yet. Netflix has one more surprise waiting for fans after the film premieres: Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi, a brand-new behind-the-scenes special celebrating the journey of one of the streamer’s most beloved LGBTQ+ stories.
The special will premiere exclusively on July 24, one week after Heartstopper Forever debuts on Netflix, giving fans one last opportunity to revisit the series, hear from the people who brought it to life, and reflect on its impact since it first arrived on our screens.
According to Netflix, Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi will feature never-before-seen archival footage spanning every season of the series and its concluding film. Alongside those unseen moments, the special includes candid interviews with the cast, creator Alice Oseman, Executive Producer Patrick Walters, and the fans whose passion helped turn Heartstopper into a global phenomenon.
Rather than simply looking back at the making of the series, Ending on a Hi promises to celebrate everything Heartstopper became over the years. From its honest portrayal of queer love and identity to the community that grew around it, the special aims to explore both the creative journey behind the adaptation and the cultural legacy it leaves behind. Netflix describes it as “a love letter to the community it brought together,” ending with a message that feels perfectly in line with the show’s spirit: every ending is also a beginning, and somewhere, someone is about to say “hi” for the very first time.

The announcement also came alongside what Netflix is calling the official Heartstopper briefing, a roadmap of everything fans can look forward to throughout July as the franchise reaches its emotional conclusion.
The celebration actually began on June 2 with the release of Heartstopper Volume 6, the final graphic novel in Alice Oseman’s beloved series. Beginning July 9 and running daily through July 15, Netflix will release a Basement Series featuring interviews, games, and activities with the cast. Then, on July 14, the cast and creative team will gather in the UK for the Heartstopper Forever World Premiere.
The festivities continue with the pre-orders for the Heartstopper vinyl box set opening on July 15, followed by the release of Basement Series bloopers on July 16 to help fans count down the final hours before the film arrives.
Finally, on July 17, Heartstopper Forever premieres globally on Netflix. The same day will also see the launch of an official podcast and the film’s digital soundtrack, ensuring there will be plenty for fans to dive into after watching Nick and Charlie’s final chapter unfold.

One week later, on July 24, Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi will close out what has become a month-long celebration of the series. Directed by Luke Hyams and executive produced by Sunita Mirchandani Hyams for Pangaea, the special looks set to offer one final chance to laugh, cry, reminisce, and celebrate a story that has meant so much to LGBTQ+ audiences around the world.
For many fans, Heartstopper Forever may mark the end of Nick and Charlie’s story on screen, but Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi feels like the perfect reminder that the show’s legacy extends far beyond its final scene. It’s one last celebration of the friendships, romances, and queer joy that brought millions of people together—and a fitting farewell before the next generation discovers Heartstopper for the very first time.
