Young Royals S3 Ep6: The Absolute Show-stealers of the Final Episode

Alright, hold onto your crowns (or not if your name is Wilhelm) because we’ve got some serious post-Young Royals S3 Ep6 moments to unpack! And let us tell you, emotions are still running wild over here. We’re talking the whole gamut—from bittersweet goodbyes to heart-pounding excitement for what’s next. But let’s cut to the chase—the pure, unadulterated joy of seeing our favorites, Wille (Edvin Ryding) and Simon (Omar Rudberg), finally getting the happy ending they deserve.

This final episode? It’s a rollercoaster ride of feels, starting right where we left off after that gut-wrenching cliffhanger in episode 5. Seeing Wille and Simon in pieces tore at our hearts, but Simon’s tough call? We’re backing him up all the way. And just when we thought we’d caught our breath, bam! Another gut punch—Hillerska shutting down for good—it’s over, c’est fini, è finita, se acabó, det är över. It’s like the end of an era, and yeah, we’re feeling all the feels.

Now, the aftermath? Let’s just say there’s blame flying in every direction, students scrambling to find their footing, and a whole lot of uncertainty in the air. But here’s the kicker—we’re not exactly shedding tears over Hillerska’s closure. It’s a wake-up call against institutions that turn a blind eye to classism, discrimination, abuse, and racism. Good riddance, we say!

But hey, amidst the chaos and farewells, the students rally for one epic last hurrah—a party to end all parties. It’s a night of goodbyes, camaraderie, and maybe, just maybe, a glimmer of hope for what lies ahead. And trust us, there’s a lot more juicy drama in S3 Ep6 that had us glued to the screen, but we’ll get to that because these moments? They’re show-stealers, and they deserve their spotlight. Let’s dive in!

A Win For the Queers

We can confidently say that Young Royals S3 Ep6 was a win for the gays. Starting with the obvious highlight—our beloved Wilmon finally getting their happily ever after. But guess what? They’re not the only ones basking in the rainbow.

Enter Stella (Felicia Truedsson) and Fredrika (Mimmi Cyon), who after three seasons of pining, finally find their way to each other. Sure, we wish we could’ve seen more of them, but sapphic representation in mainstream TV is so scarce that we will take this as a win. Way to go girls! Woot, woot!

And then there’s Nils (Samuel Astor), our formerly closeted buddy, stepping out into the light at Hillerska’s farewell bash. He opens up to August (Malte Gårdinger) and Vincent (Nils Wetterholm), his ride-or-die pals, about his attraction to men. While we’d have loved for him to embrace a label, we get why he chose to do it in this way—coming out is tough, and we think he found comfort in a more palatable expression for his straight friends. But either way, props to Nils for taking that leap!

Boy-Bye August!

Alright, buckle up for the tea on Sara (Frida Argento) and August in Young Royals S3 Ep6, because let’s be real, after that kiss in S3 Ep5, we had some serious doubts about where this was heading. No, but seriously, when we started this episode, we were more confident about Sara and August’s happy ending than Wilmon’s—cue the eye rolls, we know. But hey, can you blame us? Queer shows have given us trust issues!

So when it comes to Sara and August, our trust-o-meter was at 50/50, unsure if these two would make it or break it. And before you ask, for Wilmon it was at 90/10 because trust issues are real, folks.

But anygays, Sara’s arc this season was all about character growth and maturity, leading us to believe she’d kick August to the curb once and for all. But love’s a tricky game, and we knew she still had a soft spot for him. So the scales were balanced on a knife’s edge, teetering between disaster and delight.

Luckily, Sara comes through like a boss, showing us she’s learned from past mistakes and giving August the boot for good. And when she Fleabag’d him? We laughed, “it will pass.” Ha! Talk about standing your ground, Sara!

Sure, August didn’t bow out gracefully, but Sara’s resolve? Iconic indeed. It’s a testament to growth, self-respect, and knowing when to say boy-bye!

Sara and Felice Reunited

Let’s talk about one of the most heartwarming moments in Young Royals S3 Ep6—Sara and Felice (Nikita Uggla) finally patching things up. It was like a breath of fresh air amidst all the drama!

We loved seeing Sara take the initiative at the party and apologize to Felice. Seeing her open up about her feelings and admitting that while her heart may still have a soft spot for August, her strongest feelings are for Felice, Simon, and most importantly, herself. It was a real turning point for Sara, and we couldn’t help but root for her.

But the really heartwarming moment happens when Felice, instead of jetting off to New York with her friends, chooses to stay and have a heart-to-heart with Sara. We’ve been saying it since the beginning of the season—what Felice needed wasn’t a trip to the Big Apple; she needed a genuine connection and someone to talk to about losing her best friend.

Unfortunately, and like Felice said, her other friends tend to throw money at problems instead of, you know, lending an ear.

Le sigh.

Despite the ups and downs, we’re thrilled that Felice decided to stay and join Sara on a summer adventure, exploring Sweden in her car. It’s the kind of journey that promises unforgettable memories. Cheers to Sara and Felice finding their way back to each other!

Wilmon’s Heartbreaking Lake Scene

Oh, the pain! That scene at the lake in Young Royals S3 Ep6—aka the scene that left us in emotional shambles. No exaggeration here, folks. It’s a total rollercoaster of emotions! Seriously, it’s one of the most visually stunning moments in the entire show, but boy, did it hit us hard.

When Simon suggests to Wille at the party to forget about everything else and just focus on the present—no royal family, no prince, no socialist, no drama, just them—it is like a gut punch. The rawness of that moment, knowing it’s their last night together, had us collapsing to the floor in tears. We’ve never cried so much in our lives!

Seeing Wille and Simon baring their souls by the lake, both literally and figuratively, was heart-wrenching. They poured out every emotion, every frustration, laying it all bare. It’s not a lack of love keeping them apart; it’s the circumstances, and they both know it.

The dialogue between them—Wille questioning how it could be over and Simon reminiscing about the good times—was gut-wrenching. We were a mess of emotions, and words just can’t capture what that scene made us feel.

Despite the heartbreak, there’s a strange perfection in that moment. It’s a testament to the depth of their love and the pain of their situation. It may have torn us apart, but it’s heartbreakingly beautiful in its own way.

Wille and Simon’s songs

Okay, brace yourselves because we need to talk about the emotional bomb that Young Royals S3 Ep6 dropped on us with Wille and Simon’s songs—yeah the two of them. Seriously, we had to hit pause and take a moment to gather ourselves because we were not prepared for the flood of feelings that hit us.

First off, Simon’s gift of a song to Wille as a post-birthday surprise? Cue the waterworks. The lyrics, the imagery of Wille walking through a nearly deserted Hillerska, preparing for its final hurrah at graduation while listening to the song—it was like a punch straight to the heart.

The references to their journey, the iconic dialogues, the songs that defined Wille and Simon—it’s all there, and it’s overwhelming. Simon’s wish for Wille to find his place in the world and to someday be truly free hit us right in the feels.

And just when we thought our tear ducts had dried up, what happens? The graduation ceremony ends with the choir singing Simon’s revamped version of the school anthem—aka Simon’s song. Talk about a double whammy of emotions.

But as if that wasn’t enough emotional suffering, the sequence ends with Wille and Simon bidding what felt like a formal, almost too final goodbye. The parallel to Season 1’s ending was just too much to handle.

“I hope you have a good summer.” Seriously? Did we need that extra gut punch? Rude, Young Royals. Plain rude.

Wille Abdicating

Let’s dive into the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Wille’s decision to abdicate. Seriously, ever since we learned there was an exit strategy for Wille, we’ve been silently cheering for him to take it. And lo and behold, the perfect opportunity presents itself like a gift from the gay gods.

Picture this: Wille is in the van with his parents, Kristina (Pernilla August) and Ludvig (Magnus Roosmann), waiting to depart from the school. Through the windows, he spots August among the graduates, basking in the festivities. Inside the van, silence reigns. Kristina starts with the congratulations, acknowledging Wille’s journey through what was undoubtedly a challenging year, and Wille’s anxiety starts to bubble up.

The Queen continues, predicting a bright future for her son as a king, but Wille, in a moment of bold clarity, asks, “What if I don’t want that?”

His mom tries to brush it off; they’ve danced around this topic before. But Wille is adamant. He doesn’t want to disappoint her, but he needs an honest conversation. He’s questioning the entire system. He knows the weight of the crown, the expectations, the lack of choice. He’s seen it in his parents, felt it in himself. It’s not about Simon; it’s about freedom, about being true to himself.

As he gazes at August, still reveling in the spotlight, Wille lays it out for his parents: if they believe in the monarchy, in bloodlines dictating destiny, then August is their heir. It’s a truth that stings, but it’s his truth.

Yaaas, King! We mean, yaaaas Wille!

Wilmon Endgame

Let’s talk about THE moment in Young Royals S3 Ep6 that had us all on the edge of our seats, holding our breaths for what felt like an eternity. Because let’s be honest, we were all a little nervous that the show might throw us a curveball, leaving us shattered as the credits rolled. But thanks to the gay gods, that didn’t happen, and all the pain we went through was worth it!

After 50 minutes of nail-biting agony, we finally got the Wilmon endgame we’ve been rooting for since day one. And let us tell you, it was nothing short of magical.

Wille, now free from the burdens of royalty after abdicating, rushes to find Simon. But Simon isn’t there, the air is tense with anticipation as Wille scans the surroundings, desperate to find the love of his life.

And then, there he is—getting away in a car with Sara and Felice. The panic sets in as Wille realizes he might be running out of time. It’s like a scene straight out of a rom-com, and trust us, we’re not complaining. Wille catches up, breathless but resolute. He tells Simon about his choice to forego the crown, to choose freedom and love over duty.

The emotions are raw, tears of joy streaming down Simon’s face as he realizes what this means for them. They share a kiss that feels like a culmination of all the emotions they’ve been through, all the obstacles they’ve faced.

It’s a moment of pure, unadulterated joy. A montage of their journey together flashes before our eyes, from their first meeting to every heartfelt moment in between. As the montage ends, Wille and Simon are still in each other’s arms, smiling through tears of happiness. The world suddenly seems brighter, more vibrant, as if every color is bursting forth in celebration of their love.

As they join Sara and Felice in the car, the sheer bliss on Wille and Simon’s faces is contagious. They’re free, they’re together, and their future is brimming with possibilities. It’s a moment that leaves us wiping away tears of joy and reaching for more tissues because, let’s face it, Netflix owes us a lifetime supply at this point.

Seriously, has anyone got a tissue? We’re crying again.
