Troye Sivan Serves Pop Excellence in New Music Video for ‘One of Your Girls’!

Troye Sivan has taken the internet by storm not only with the release of his highly-anticipated third album Something To Give Each Other, but also with the visually stunning music video for his latest single, One of Your Girls. If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t seen the millions of screenshots and posts about the music video on social media, let us tell you something: it’s an absolute slay!

Dressed in drag and dancing on the lap of none other than Ross Lynch (the gays lost it when they saw him half-naked in the teaser earlier this week), Troye has crafted a tribute to pop culture. Featuring nods to iconic moments like Beyoncé’s Single Ladies and Britney Spears’ most famous choreographies, One of Your Girls is a vibrant explosion of pop culture iconography.

The song itself explores the theme of unrequited love but with a unique twist. It’s not about a lack of attraction; instead, it’s about a love that never stops being platonic. Sivan has openly shared that the lyrics reflect his experiences with boys who have never been with other boys before but have been attracted to him.

The sound of One of Your Girls pays tribute to one of Sivan’s favorite groups, Daft Punk. Produced by Oscar Gorres, the song is a sonic gift brimming with synthesizers. The concept for the music video is the brainchild of director Gordon Von Steiner, who has previously directed two other music videos from the Something To Give Each Other album: Rush and Got Me Started.

Troye Sivan’s triumphant return with Something To Give Each Other comes after a five-year hiatus since the release of his last full-length album. Sivan’s third ten-track baby is a joyous celebration of dance, community, sex, queerness, love, and friendship. You only have to listen to the album to know that Sivan chose to channel his emotions differently this time, focusing not on what he’s lost but on the exhilarating freedom of being single and wholly himself.

Something To Give Each Other is perhaps Sivan’s most audacious and imaginative work to date. It’s a dance-pop odyssey, an electrifying listening experience that highlights Sivan’s unwavering dedication to detail and his massive pop-star potential.

It is, undoubtedly, an album that will keep you thoroughly entertained and grooving from the very first note to the final beat.
