The Umbrella Academy Season 4: Release Date and Promotional Posters Unveiled!

Hey folks, get ready to dust off your umbrellas because The Umbrella Academy is back for its fourth and final season! We’ve been eagerly waiting for this moment, and now we have an official release date! Mark your calendars because The Umbrella Academy is coming to Netflix on August 8.

Yep, you read that right, August 8. And isn’t it funny? Today, but 5 years ago (that is, February 15, 2019), The Umbrella Academy officially debuted on Netflix, and now the streaming giant is using this historic date to announce the release date for its fourth and final season.

Last year, Netflix announced that Season 4 would be the end of the road for our beloved dysfunctional superhero family. We got a sneak peek of sorts with a promo poster (pictured above), but the release date was a mystery until now. But fear not, because not only do we have an official release date, but we also have teaser posters featuring all our favorite characters. From the brellies to Lila (Ritu Arya) to Sir Reginald (Colm Feore), it’s a visual feast for all us fans.

Check them all out in the gallery below!

For those who might need a refresher, Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy had us on the edge of our seats as the Hargreeves siblings returned from 1963, only to discover themselves replaced by the Sparrow Academy, a new group of gifted children raised by their adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves.

As the brellies adjusted to this startling new reality, they faced a myriad of personal challenges and conflicts that left lasting marks. Klaus (Robert Sheehan) embarked on a poignant journey in search of his birth mother, while Diego (David Castañeda) shouldered newfound parental responsibilities. Luther (Tom Hopper) found an unexpected connection with a Sparrow member named Sloane (Génesis Rodríguez), and Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) grappled with the heartache of losing loved ones due to the altered timeline. And of course, there’s Vanya, who boldly embraced his identity as a trans man, renaming himself Viktor (Elliot Page).

Meanwhile, Five (Aidan Gallagher) made a startling discovery: their past actions had created a time paradox called the Kugelblitz, which posed a grave threat to the very fabric of the universe. This revelation forced both the Umbrellas and the Sparrows to set aside their differences and unite in a race against time to avert disaster. But even as they faced this existential threat, the conflict was far from over.

In the climactic finale of Season 3, the enigmatic Obsidian Hotel revealed its secrets: an ancient alien console capable of resetting the universe, only if powered by seven individuals with extraordinary abilities. And to the shock of all, it was none other than Sir Reginald who had orchestrated these events from the shadows.

But for what purpose? The answer lay in the desire to bring someone back to life. Following Allison’s use of the console to reset reality, the Umbrellas, along with Lila and Sparrow Ben, found themselves in a park, confronted by a statue of their former adoptive father. Here, amidst profound revelations, they faced a startling truth.

Luther was alive, his gorilla form a thing of the past. Furthermore, none of the siblings seem to have their extraordinary powers. Whether these abilities were drained by the console or deliberately stripped away remains unclear.

Faced with uncertainty and weariness, they chose to forge their own paths in this new reality. Yet, a tantalizing glimpse of the future awaited in a post-credits scene set in South Korea: the existence of another Ben, signaling a twist of fate yet to unfold.

So what lies ahead for the Hargreeves siblings? Will they reclaim their powers and restore the timeline once more? Your guess is as good as ours, but we can’t wait to find out when The Umbrella Academy Season 4 hits our screens.
