The Heartstopper Forever Trailer Is Finally Here, And We’re Already Emotional
It’s finally here. Just a month before its global premiere, Netflix has released the long-awaited trailer for Heartstopper Forever, the feature film that will serve as the culmination of Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie’s (Joe Locke) beautiful story. Alongside the trailer, the streamer also unveiled the film’s official poster and several new production stills, giving us our most substantial look yet at the final chapter of one of the most beloved LGBTQ+ stories of the last decade.
And yes, we’re already feeling a lot of things.

Set to Olivia Rodrigo’s Stupid Song from her brand-new album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, the nearly two-minute trailer offers an emotional glimpse at what awaits Nick and Charlie as they face the biggest challenge their relationship has encountered so far.
The footage balances everything that has made Heartstopper such a beloved LGBTQ+ story: tender romance, heartfelt friendships, moments of joy, and the growing pains that come with figuring out who you are and who you want to become. We see Nick, Charlie, and the rest of the gang sharing celebrations, late nights together, and the kinds of everyday moments that have always made the series feel so special.
But beneath those happy moments lies a new uncertainty. With major life changes on the horizon, the trailer hints that Nick and Charlie may find themselves wanting different things—or at least struggling to navigate what comes next. Questions about independence, identity, and the future begin to surface, creating what looks to be the biggest test their relationship has faced so far.
Thankfully, Heartstopper Forever doesn’t appear to be losing sight of what has always been at the center of the story: love. Not just romantic love, but the deep bonds of friendship, chosen family, and community that have carried these characters through every milestone. The trailer promises plenty of emotional moments, a few tears, and more than enough reasons for us to start counting down the days until the film arrives.

Netflix’s official synopsis for the film reads: Nick and Charlie are inseparable, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?
For many LGBTQ+ people, Heartstopper has never been just another coming-of-age story. Since its debut, the series has become a source of comfort, representation, and hope, offering a vision of queer love that is allowed to be tender, joyful, and unapologetically romantic. It has given countless viewers characters they could see themselves in and stories they wished they had growing up.
Now, as we prepare to say goodbye to Nick, Charlie, and the rest of this beloved group of friends, Heartstopper Forever feels less like an ending and more like a celebration of everything this story has meant along the way. Because whether the future unfolds exactly as these characters imagine it or not, the connections they’ve built, the lessons they’ve learned, and the love they’ve shared have already left a lasting impact.
And if this trailer is any indication, the film is ready to remind us why we fell in love with Heartstopper in the first place. Check out the promotional stills in the gallery below.
