Luke MacFarlane and Peter Porte are coming to Hallmark!

The Hallmark Channel has just announced a new gay rom-com to be released in the fall season. Aptly titled Notes of Autumn, the film features popular gay actor Luke McFarlane, from recent smash hit films such as Single All The Way and Bros, and Peter Porte, known for his work on daytime soap operas such as The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives.

Notes of Autumn follows the story of Leo (Luke MacFarlane), a successful author who is currently trudging through the throws of a hefty writer’s block. In an effort to cure the dastardly curse, Leo trades houses with his best friend, thinking that a change of scenery might be enough to shake things up for himself.

While staying at Ellie’s house, Leo meets Matt (Peter Porte). Because this is a Hallmark film, sparks obviously fly between the two gentlemen. Matt is just what Leo needs, and the man challenges the writer to step outside his comfort zone and write something new that he hasn’t tried before.

We’re huge fans of Luke MacFarlane in this house. The man could put a garbage bag over his head and film himself walking up and down Hollywood Boulevard and we’d still watch it, so we’re definitely going to give this film a go. Hallmark has just started delving into the land of LGBTQ storytelling and released The Holiday Sitter in 2022, their first-ever queer Christmas movie.

The Holiday Sitter was met with mixed reviews, but we believe in second chances here at Q+ Magazine, and everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Employing two wildly popular ‘out’ gay actors like Luke MacFarlane and Peter Porte to get the job done adds bonus points to the tally if you ask us.

Notes of Autumn will be available to watch on the Hallmark Channel on September 16, 2023. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all queer stuff!
