First Time Flyers Announce New Album Coming Home and Biggest Tour Yet

A year ago, we were introducing y’all to First Time Flyers as the country collective prepared to take off with their debut album, Bound To Break. Now, somehow, we’re already back here talking about the band’s next era—and this time, they’re Coming Home.

First Time Flyers have announced their second studio album, Coming Home, arriving April 2, 2027, alongside their biggest headline tour to date. The album announcement follows the release of its title track, Coming Home, which is out on major music streaming platforms, while presale for the newly announced tour begins today.

For anyone who missed our first First Time Flyers coverage, the four-piece is made up of Jake Morrell, Poppy Fardell, Tim Prottey-Jones, and Vicki Manser, bringing together their individual backgrounds and a whole lot of four-part harmonies. Their debut album went to No. 1 on the Official UK Country Albums Chart, followed by sold-out shows and a growing list of festival appearances and major support slots.

And since we first talked about First Time Flyers, we can’t talk about the band without remembering Jump, the deeply personal song Vicki brought to Bound To Break about finally finding a relationship that felt true to who she was. As the band’s openly LGBTQ+ member, Vicki gave us a pretty special queer connection to First Time Flyers from the very beginning, and it’s nice to carry that thread into this next chapter.

This time around, Coming Home takes the band somewhere a little different. The song grew out of conversations about how much their lives had changed after spending so much time on the road, with the experience of leaving familiar places, chasing new opportunities, and eventually finding yourself drawn back toward the people and places that shaped you. It’s a fitting first glimpse at an album that arrives after a pretty massive year for the group.

The title track was released on August 28, the opening weekend of The Long Road Festival, where First Time Flyers returned to the Main Stage after performing at the festival for four consecutive years. For a group that has spent so much time traveling, performing and building a life around music, there’s something pretty fitting about introducing Coming Home at a place they’ve come to consider a “home away from home.”

The new album arrives after a busy year for First Time Flyers, with the band taking Bound To Break on the road, playing major festivals and sharing stages with artists including Bruce Springsteen, The Chicks and The Shires. Now, they’re ready to turn that experience into their next chapter with Coming Home.

The Coming Home tour kicks off April 7 in Belfast at Deers Head before traveling through Dublin, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Kendal and Glasgow. The band will then head to Milton Keynes, Colchester, Norwich, Leeds, Brighton, Portsmouth and Birmingham before wrapping things up in London at Dingwalls on May 1. European dates include, so far, stops in Germany and the Netherlands, running from May 5 through May 10.
