Shobsy Releases New EP The World Will Not Remember, and Single ‘Perfect’

Irish LGBTQ pop artist Shobsy is giving us a new collection of songs to get lost in. His new EP, The World Will Not Remember, is out now alongside Perfect, a heartfelt ballad that closes the four-track release with a deeply personal goodbye.

Recorded across Berlin and Dublin, the EP explores synth-pop, soul, and R&B, bringing together the sounds that have shaped Shobsy’s musical identity. The collection opens with the seductive groove of OH! before moving into the pop energy of Silver Line Livin’ and Royalty. Then comes Perfect, the EP’s only ballad, which finds the Irish singer embracing a more stripped-back sound and letting his vocals take the spotlight.

For Shobsy, releasing Perfect meant revisiting a song that initially felt too personal to share. “At the time of writing, it felt too close to the bone. Over time, friends have convinced me to release it. It’s a warm goodbye to someone I’ve loved for a long time. It’s a raising of a glass to them as life and paths shift,” he explains.

That sense of reflection runs throughout The World Will Not Remember, which documents the last six months of the singer’s life. Despite its seemingly heavy title, the EP approaches the fleeting nature of our experiences with a sense of humor and perspective. As Shobsy puts it, “The importance we feel as the protagonist in our lives, the loves, the losses, the successes and failures, all seem to eventually fade in a fast-moving world. They get quite rudely dashed out by the universe.”

Rather than seeing that reality as a reason to hold back, Shobsy embraces it as an invitation to create freely. “It’s an essential and natural process beyond us all. I want to use this reality as opportunity, as artistic license to make whatever, whenever, both safe and in awe at the fact that the world will not remember!”

Since launching his solo career in 2022, Shobsy has continued to build momentum, earning radio support in Ireland and taking his music to audiences across the UK, Europe, and the US. His recent live highlights include a 14-date UK and European tour with label mates MY BABY and a performance at SXSW, while his growing catalog has received support from RTÉ Radio 1, Today FM, and 2fm.
