The Color Purple: A Musical Extravaganza

A musical extravaganza version of The Color Purple is coming to a movie theater near you this Christmas! Warner Bros. Pictures invites you to experience the extraordinary sisterhood of three women who share one unbreakable bond in this silver-screen adaptation.

This bold new take on the beloved classic is directed by Blitz Bazawule, a multi-medium artist whose breakout first feature is the highly acclaimed The Burial of Kojo. Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders, and Quincy Jones teamed up to produce this one!

It’s becoming quite a trend for Hollywood to take productions that have received much attention on stages around the world and adapt them for cinematic release. The productions are attracting the likes of big Hollywood hitters and tend to portray less censored versions of their original stories.
