As Sin-Dee’s quest for revenge unfolds, the film weaves together various subplots involving other marginalized individuals, including a compassionate Armenian taxi driver named Razmik, and his encounters with transgender sex workers.

Tangerine is known for its production approach, as it was shot entirely on iPhone cameras, giving it a raw visual style. The film received widespread praise for its authentic portrayal of transgender characters & for shedding light on the challenges they face in society. The Guncle by Steven Rowley 

The Guncle is a heartwarming novel written by Steven Rowley. The story revolves around Patrick, a former sitcom star who is grieving the loss of his partner and navigating a life of solitude in Palm Springs. 

Patrick, nicknamed “GUP” (Gay Uncle Patrick), has always been the beloved and fun-loving uncle to his niece and nephew, Maisie and Grant.

When their mother, Patrick’s sister, enters rehab, Patrick unexpectedly becomes the temporary guardian of his young niece and nephew. As a self-proclaimed “Guncle,” Patrick must step into the role of a parental figure, despite his lack of experience and reservations about his own abilities. With the children under his care, Patrick embarks on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and connection.

The book explores the complexities of family dynamics & the power of love & acceptance. Patrick’s unique mix of humor, vulnerability & compassion helps him build a special bond with Maisie & Grant, as they navigate their own challenges & come to terms with their mother’s absence.

Pride 2023: Sex Education

Sex Education

Sex Education is a popular British television series created by Laurie Nunn. The show centers around Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), a socially awkward teenager who also happens to be the son of a sex therapist, Jean (Gillian Anderson).

Despite his own lack of sexual experience, Otis possesses a vast knowledge of human sexuality thanks to growing up surrounded by his mother’s work.

Utilizing his unique insight, Otis teams up with his rebellious and witty classmate, Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), to start an underground sex therapy clinic at their high school.
