Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe: the long-awaited trailer is here!
This is not a drill! We repeat, this is not a drill! After many months of waiting, the long-awaited trailer for the film adaptation of Benjamin Alire Sáenz’s Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is finally here!
The film, written and directed by Aitch Alberto, is set in 1987 El Paso, Texas, and revolves around the lives of two teenage boys, Aristotle ‘Ari’ Mendoza (Max Pelayo) and Dante Quintana (Reese Gonzalez), as they sail through the complexities of adolescence, friendship, and self-discovery.
Ari is a reserved boy who struggles with his emotions and inner conflicts. Dante, on the other hand, is an intelligent and artistic individual who is more open and self-assured. The two boys meet at the local pool and form an unlikely bond that embarks them on a transformative journey together.
The trailer – which y’all can check out below – beautifully brings key moments from the story to life, like the time when Ari and Dante meet and Dante offers to teach Ari how to swim; or when they have to resort to letters to keep their friendhsip alive after Dante has to leave El Paso and go with his family to Chicago for a year.
