4 scenes we hope make it into the Red, White & Royal Blue movie

Although Amazon Studios has not yet released any information regarding a possible release date for the Red, White & Royal Blue movie, we know that filming wrapped mid-August in 2022. With that said, one could not be accused of crazy talk for thinking, wishing, and hoping for a first-half of 2023 release. There are a lot of folks who have many feelings about this story, and fans are anxiously awaiting more for information about how the film will be adapted from the book. While we wish the entire thing could materialize on our screens, here are 4 scenes we are really hoping to see in the film.

Before we jump into the countdown, let’s be clear, the personal way in which this story impacted folks all around the world is sure to yield different wishes for everyone, so if we left yours out, hit us up on socials so we can start the buzz.

Nicholas Galitzine (Prince Henry) told People that “While obviously, the movie will be its own entity separate from the book, there’s a great deal of fan service,” he says. “We’re making something that is both a lot of fun, but it feels very elevated and it feels like a beautiful movie, both aesthetically and just the performances and the story.”

We don’t know what to expect but we are excited, and we are ready! So in no particular order, because yeesh it’s hard to choose, here are the 4 scenes we hope make it into the film.

Alex storms the castle

You know the one we mean, Henry had just walked out on Alex in the middle of their Texas vacation only to ghost Alex from then on. Alex, being the absolute firecracker that he is, does not take this lying down.

He knows that he feels “forever” about Henry and he seems to have a pretty good sense that Henry is just running from himself, and him, and … well he is a royal, isn’t he?!

So what does he do? He gets on a plane and flies around the world and storms the castle in the middle of the pouring rain, screaming Henry’s name and making quite a commotion.

This scene is everything and definitely had to make an appearance in our 4 scenes because Alex taught us that you can have your cake and eat it too, if you’re willing to get a little rain-soaked to get it!

The emails

There are many, many theatrical ways that the exchange of emails that occurs between the two could make it into the film. We don’t know about you, but this is where we felt like we as an audience fell in love with their love.

For Henry’s character development especially, these emails seem really important. Without them, we would only get to make judgments about Henry from an external perspective, but these letters allow us to see inside his mind and the deep melancholy that he has been carrying with him for so long. It’s where we see that Alex makes him feel like he can have a different life if he is willing to go the hard yards to get it.

Top 4 scenes that need to make it in for us, for sure!

Busted!

We don’t know about you, but one of our top 4 scenes is definitely when Alex and Henry oversleep in Alex’s New York hotel room after a massive night of drunken sexytime shenanigans, and Zahra bursts in to find them together, and Henry, quite half undressed.

The way he tumbles out of the closet in a “surprise! We’re queer and we’re here” kind of way had us rolling in stitches.

Zahra’s utter shock and surprise to find Henry half undressed in Alex’s hotel room was a comical genius that we need to see on screen!

Texas

Despite the fact that it’s really painful that Henry walks out on Alex and leaves Texas in the middle of the night, the entire chapter where they go to Alex’s dad’s house is so important. Alex’s dad lets on that he knows about him and Henry, and makes sure Alex knows that he is loved and supported no matter what.

Henry gets to see that family love and support can be unconditional, and he starts to realize that Alex really does love him in the forever way. Yes, he gets scared and runs away, but it’s here that Alex realizes that he wants everything in this world with Henry. It’s where Alex is most happy, and if he can have that AND have Henry at the same time, then he will.

And we all know that Alex Claremont-Diaz is nothing if not tenacious about what he wants.

So, despite its unhappy ending, Texas makes it into our top 4 scenes that we desperately want to see in the movie.

Obviously, we are extremely excited about this upcoming film release. We could talk about this book for hours on end and we are positively vibrating with anticipation over what is going to be on screen. Let’s hope we don’t have long to wait now!
