‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2 First Look Reveals When Sophie and Margo Return
We finally have our first look at The Hunting Wives Season 2, and thankfully, Netflix is giving us a lot more than another vague promise that Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow) and Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman) will be back. The streamer has unveiled the first images from the highly anticipated second season, along with a release date that gives us a very specific day to circle on our calendars: Thursday, November 26, 2026.
Yes, The Hunting Wives Season 2 is premiering on Thanksgiving Day. Because apparently there is no better way to celebrate the holidays than returning to East Texas for another round of secrets, murder, complicated relationships, and sapphic chaos.
The new season will premiere exclusively on Netflix as a Netflix-branded series in nearly every country where the streamer is available. That international rollout is particularly exciting considering how complicated the first season’s release was. When we first reported that Season 2 had officially entered production, The Hunting Wives was still only available on Netflix in the United States, Crave in Canada, and Stan in Australia. Despite that limited availability, the series became a genuine breakout hit, spending five weeks in Netflix’s global English Top 10 and attracting more than 20 million views.
Season 2 will finally bring the show to a much larger audience, and we have a feeling plenty of viewers are going to understand the obsession very quickly.

For anyone who needs a refresher, the series follows Sophie O’Neil, who moves from Boston to a small East Texas town with her family, hoping for a quieter life. Instead, she finds herself drawn into the glamorous and increasingly dangerous world of Margo Banks, a wealthy socialite who leads a group of women known as the Hunting Wives.
And then there is that relationship.
Sophie and Margo’s connection became one of the biggest reasons we couldn’t look away from the first season. Their attraction is messy, complicated, and deeply queer, with the kind of sapphic tension that can turn a seemingly innocent friendship into a spectacularly bad idea. The show mixes that relationship with murder, secrets, manipulation, and plenty of wealthy-Texas drama, giving us exactly the sort of deliciously chaotic queer thriller we don’t get nearly enough of.
Season 2 is picking up after the events of that first season, and Netflix’s new logline immediately tells us that things aren’t exactly peaceful between our favorite troublemakers. Sophie and Margo begin the season on the outs, but old secrets and new enemies will force them back together. As they return to their dangerous games, we’re left with one very important question: are they the hunters or the hunted? Honestly, knowing these two, probably both.
The Hunting Wives Season 2 first-look images don’t give away too much about what’s coming, but they do confirm that the show’s glossy, Southern-gothic aesthetic isn’t going anywhere. And considering where we left Sophie and Margo, we’re more than happy to let the mystery build for a few more months.
Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman will return alongside Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier. Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery are also back as series regulars, joining Branton Box, who will reprise his role as Sheriff Johnny.
The Season 2 cast is also expanding, with Kim Matula, Cam Gigandet, Alex FitzAlan, John Stamos, Angel Reese, and Dale Dickey joining the series in additional key roles. Rebecca Cutter, who created the series and serves as showrunner and writer, is also returning, while May Cobb, author of the novel on which the series is based, remains an executive producer alongside Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment. The new season will consist of eight episodes from Lionsgate Television.
For those of us who have been waiting since Season 1 left us with plenty of questions, November can’t come soon enough. And for everyone who wasn’t able to watch the first season because of its limited international release, the arrival of Season 2 on Netflix in nearly every territory means the Hunting Wives universe is about to get considerably bigger. So, consider this our official warning: the wives are coming back.
The Hunting Wives Season 2 premieres Thursday, November 26, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. And if these first-look images are any indication, Sophie and Margo are about to make Thanksgiving considerably more interesting.
