Drag Meets Award Show Glamour in This Year’s Werq the World Tour

Look, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: if drag queens actually ran Hollywood, the Oscars would start on time, the gowns would slap, and the acceptance speeches would have choreography. Luckily, the dolls are done waiting for their moment, because RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Werq the World Tour 2025 is officially rolling out the red carpet, and this year, it’s all about giving awards season the fierce drag twist it never knew it needed.

Presented by Voss Events in collaboration with World of Wonder and MTV, this year’s tour is going full Hollywood fantasy with a brand-new production inspired by the glitz and chaos of iconic awards ceremonies. We’re talking velvet ropes, high-stakes glamour, and queens channeling pop divas with a wink, a strut, and a whole lot of lip-sync. It all kicks off August 15 in Connecticut and will hit 48 cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico before wrapping in Monterrey on October 25.

The 2025 lineup is stacked. We’ve got not one, but two drag powerhouses hosting the show: Jimbo, who’s bringing full-on Joan Rivers mayhem to the mic, and Sasha Velour, whose stage presence evokes the high-art drama of Madonna, Gaga, and Marlene Dietrich. Together, they’ll guide us through a night of award-worthy performances, dazzling looks, and more rhinestones than a Vegas revue.

And because the universe loves us, Season 17 winner Onya Nurve will be joining the tour for the first time from September 9 through 25. Fresh off her crowning, she’s stepping into superstar mode, and we’re already obsessed.

As for the rest of the cast? Drag royalty, baby. Daya Betty will serve Gaga, Derrick Barry’s back with her spot-on Britney, Jaida Essence Hall and Naomi Smalls will make Beyoncé proud, and Jorgeous is set to give us full Ariana fantasy. Kim Chi becomes the glam embodiment of Celine Dion, Morphine channels Shakira’s heat, Roxxxy Andrews brings Mariah Carey drama, and Vanjie? She’s Rihanna. We’re deceased. (And if you’re wondering who’s performing in your city, don’t forget to check local listings—cast may vary.)

“WERQ THE WORLD, the largest drag show on earth, is celebrated for its grand themes and spectacular production,” says producer Brandon Voss. “This year, we’re inviting fans to relive the most iconic moments in award show history—with a fabulous drag twist.”

And we’re so ready for that twist. Whether you’re in it for the glamour, the lip-syncs, or the pure joy of watching queer excellence take center stage, Werq the World is shaping up to be one of the most unmissable events of the year. As Voss Events’ Jon Norris puts it, “This year’s production is a love letter to Awards Season and to the drag legends who make it so unforgettable.”

Tickets are already on sale at WerqTheWorld.com, and VIP packages are available for those of us who like to mix our drag with a little backstage fantasy (read: meet-and-greets, photo ops, and unforgettable moments with our fave queens).

We’ve got our sequins ready, our lashes glued, and our acceptance speech in hand. We’ll see you at the show, darlings.
