And Just Like That Season 2 …we have a summer release!

HBO Max released its teaser for And Just Like That Season 2. Although an exact date has not yet been released, HBO Max confirmed today that the show is definitely dropping at some time in June.

Although we’re here for the queer storylines, this particular teaser is narrated by Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and doesn’t really give much away about what we can expect from our resident queer characters in the upcoming season.

We can tell you that Carrie definitely seems to be moving on from the trauma of losing her husband like she did in season 1. There seems to be some casual sex happening in the protagonist’s life, and if the trailer is anything to go by, she is definitely out there getting her fill.

Prior to the release of the And Just Like That Season 2 teaser, it was sneakily announced that crowd favorite Aiden Shaw (John Corbett) will be making a return to Carrie’s life on the show. Considering the way that Carrie did Aiden dirty in the past, we really hope that whatever he is here to do, she doesn’t fall back into old habits with the poor dude.

In keeping with the theme of sex, Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) daughter announces boldly in the teaser that she is ready to have sex, to which her parents respond with shock and horror. Seems on-brand… for everyone involved.

It’s no secret that in Season 1, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) experienced a later-in-life queer awakening and entered into a relationship with Che (Sara Ramirez). The end of the previous season saw Che accept a job all the way over in Los Angeles and as the season came to a close, fans everywhere were asking all the right questions: will this relationship work? Will Miranda eventually just go back to Steve? (Please don’t do the queers dirty like that fam, we’re not sure we would recover).

Well, in the montage presented in the teaser trailer, it does appear that they are at least still in each other’s lives. The capacity to which this is true remains unclear at this point, but we will definitely be watching closely to see how this storyline plays out.

June is only a couple of short months away! We will be gearing up for Pride and hoping that And Just Like That Season 2 gives the queers everything we deserve. It is Pride month, after all.
