The Vampire Lestat Release Date Arrives with Flashy New Opening Titles
It’s Friday the 13th again, and as many of us suspected, AMC took the opportunity to feed us a few more delicious crumbs about the upcoming third season of Interview With the Vampire, now officially titled The Vampire Lestat. Only this time, the crumbs came with something we’ve all been waiting for: the official The Vampire Lestat release date.
After months of speculation—and plenty of guessing from fans about when the new season might arrive—AMC has finally confirmed when the series’ third season will hit our screens. The Vampire Lestat will premiere on Sunday, June 7, on AMC and AMC+, officially kicking off the show’s next era.

But that’s not all, Beautiful Unwell (yes, we’re proudly using the nickname Lestat himself gave y’all). Alongside the release date announcement, AMC also dropped something we weren’t entirely expecting: the official opening titles for the new season.
Yes, you read that right, full opening titles. And they’re every bit as flashy, provocative, extravagant, dramatic and delightfully campy as you’d expect from a vampire who has decided to reinvent himself as a rock star.
In the nearly minute-and-a-half sequence, we’re treated to a barrage of visuals that immediately signal the tonal shift this season is embracing. The energy is bold, decadent, and theatrical. It’s giving Brat Prince, it’s giving rock icon, it’s giving diva energy in the most gloriously, unapologetically over-the-top undead way possible.
In other words, extremely Lestat (Sam Reid).

That alone marks a huge shift for the series. Until now, Interview With the Vampire only featured brief, roughly 20-second title cards—elegant but simple screens displaying the episode title alongside two city skylines tied to the story’s timeline: Dubai and New Orleans, Dubai and Paris, Dubai and San Francisco. They were gorgeous, sure, but they were quick in-and-out moments.
This time? We’re getting a full musical intro, and honestly, it fits perfectly with where the story is headed.
Set to Lestat’s newly released song All Fall Down, the opening titles pull us directly into his chaotic, creative universe. We see flashes of Lestat performing on stage, glimpses of other characters, and bursts of stylized imagery that feel almost like fragments of a fever dream. The sequence even includes playful, cartoonish references to famous vampires in pop culture, adding another layer of camp to the whole thing.
The final moments cycle through a succession of title cards displaying The Vampire Lestat in different fonts and visual styles. It’s a clever way of suggesting that Lestat himself refuses to be defined by just one aesthetic. His music, much like his immortal self, clearly contains multitudes.
You can check out the full opening titles in the video below.
Now, we do have to address one aspect of the sequence that has already sparked discussion online: what appears to be the use of generative AI in the creation of the opening titles. The conversation around AI in creative work is understandably heated, and it’s something we can’t ignore.
That said, the development wasn’t entirely unexpected. Last year, AMC Networks announced at its second annual technology and innovation event that the company had partnered with Runway to explore generative AI tools for programming development. According to the network, these tools are intended to support branded content creation, advertising technology, and content discovery across AMC’s platforms.
So while the use of AI may not sit well with everyone (including us), it’s also a direction the company had already signaled publicly. We know that it’s annoying and frustrating, but sadly, it is what it is. And we don’t know about y’all, but we won’t let that get in the way of us enjoying this upcoming season.
But anygays… back to the show.

We’re gonna be honest and confess that we were actually expecting something a bit smaller today, maybe just the release of Lestat’s new song. As clocks struck midnight around the world, All Fall Down started popping up on streaming platforms, which seemed like the main event. Instead, AMC decided to give us much more: the song, the opening titles, and the long-awaited The Vampire Lestat release date.
In a statement to the press, the Vampire Lestat said of his new single, “‘All Fall Down’ is mercifully only 68 seconds long. That’s 54 seconds more Daniel Hart than anyone should suffer. I like the harmonies on the chorus. I did those.”
Hart added about the song, “Much like ‘Long Face,’ it feels heavily influenced by Bowie, T. Rex, and other ’70s rock’n’roll stars who were looking back to the blues as much as they were looking up to the stars for inspiration. ‘All Fall Down’ marks a time in this vampire band’s life when they were still figuring out exactly what their sound was, and before Lestat himself started to change personas and explore other musical styles. At the same time, with ‘All Fall Down’, we tried to capture the overall feeling of this new Lestat we get to know better and better throughout the season: more wild, more raw, more self-deprecatingly funny than ever before.”

As previously reported, the new rock-and-roll–driven season will follow Lestat as he launches an electrifying multi-city tour while grappling with the ghosts (or “muses” as he calls them) of his wild and rebellious past. As his fame grows, so does his influence over both vampires and humans. Meanwhile, others must contend with the consequences of Lestat’s power during the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the global vampire population.
Alongside Reid as the iconic vampire rock star, The Vampire Lestat also stars Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Assad Zaman as Armand, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and Jennifer Ehle as Gabriella de Lioncourt.
Are y’all ready for June 7? Because we totally are. We truly couldn’t imagine a more fitting month for this chaotic, queer immortal to step onto the stage and take over the world.
The Vampire Lestat will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, June 7. Seasons 1 and 2 of Interview With the Vampire are available to stream on AMC+ (US only), Netflix, and Prime Video (depending on the region). Follow us on X and Instagram for all queer stuff!
