Bobby Berk Is Back and He’s Bringing the Drama (and the Decluttering) to HGTV
Since he departed Queer Eye, we’ve missed Bobby Berk so much. His warm energy, impeccable taste, and no-nonsense advice left a Fab Five–sized hole in our hearts. So when we heard he was heading back to our screens with a brand-new show on HGTV, we screamed with gusto. Yes, Bobby is back, and he’s about to turn our cluttered chaos into clean, curated joy.
HGTV announced last week that Berk will be hosting a new six-episode series titled Junk or Jackpot?, premiering later this year. And honestly, it sounds like a dream come true for anyone with a serious collecting habit or a serious case of missing Bobby. Whether you’re hoarding superhero figurines, marionettes, or miniatures galore, this one’s for you.
Each episode of Junk or Jackpot? will follow Berk as he meets homeowners whose prized collections are, well, taking over their homes. With his signature blend of style, compassion, and tough love, he’ll help folks determine what’s worth keeping, what’s worth cashing in, and what’s just taking up space. And the stakes are high: the potential profits from their collections could help fund the home renovations of their dreams.
“Collecting is a personal pastime that brings joy and inspiration, but it’s easy to get carried away, which can negatively impact your living conditions,” Berk said in a press release. “I’m excited to help passionate people sift through their cherished items and give them reimagined spaces that will best honor what they hold dear.”
Even better? The concept came from none other than John Cena, who serves as executive producer. “The idea for Junk or Jackpot? was born out of a conversation I had with friends,” Cena shared. “People often wonder if their collections are trash or treasure, and this show will help them find out.”
This exciting HGTV news comes just one day after Netflix confirmed Queer Eye will end with its upcoming tenth season. Bobby originally joined the show in 2018 as the design expert, making over homes—and lives—alongside Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness. He stepped away before season 9 and was replaced by designer—and HGTV alum—Jeremiah Brent. The multiverse of queer designers is real, and honestly, we’re living for it.
We couldn’t be more excited to see Bobby back doing what he does best, now with a brand-new spin. Junk or Jackpot? is shaping up to be the kind of heartwarming, stylish, and slightly chaotic television we crave, and we absolutely can’t wait to watch.
