‘Bonus Track’ Drops on VOD February 11, Just in Time for a Valentine’s Watch

There’s a brand-new coming-of-age queer romance heading our way, and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited! Bonus Track, from Sunrise Films—the new U.S. arm of Vertigo Releasing—arrives on Cable VOD and Digital HD platforms on February 11, just in time to melt our hearts and get us in the Valentine’s spirit. Based on a story by Mike Gilbert and Josh O’Connor (yes, that Josh O’Connor from Challengers and The Crown), this film marks the feature directorial debut of Julia Jackman and promises to deliver all the sweet, nostalgic feels we crave.

Set in 2006, Bonus Track follows 16-year-old aspiring musician George (Joe Anders), who finds himself drawn to Max (Samuel Small), the effortlessly cool new kid at school—who also happens to be the son of a famous musical duo. As the two prepare for their school’s year-end talent show, their unexpected friendship blossoms into something deeper, giving us a heartwarming romance that feels like a warm hug. And honestly, given the state of the world right now, we could all use a little extra queer joy.

We don’t know about y’all, but this is exactly the kind of story that makes our little queer hearts happy. A swoony, nostalgic coming-of-age romance with music, longing glances, and all the butterfly-inducing tension? Yeah, we’re already seated, popcorn in hand, counting down the days until release.

Check out the trailer below and see for yourselves!

Alongside Anders and Small, Bonus Track boasts an incredible supporting cast, including Ray Panthaki, Susan Wokoma, Jack Davenport, Alison Sudol, and even Josh O’Connor himself in a cameo role. This charming film is a Sky, Bankside Films, and Erebus Pictures production, produced by Stephanie Aspin, Helen Simmons, and Campbell Beaton.
