Welcome to the Young Royals Fan Art Exhibition! If you’re here, we’re assuming it is because you want to vote for your fave submission, and fam, we’re so proud of everyone that submitted their artwork! The Young Royals family has some incredibly talented artists among you all. A couple of things before we get started!

First, we’d like to say that the artwork displayed in the exhibition gallery does not belong to us. The complete rights to these works lie solely with the creators. For the purposes of voting, we removed the name of the artist from each submission so you could vote objectively on which piece you think warrants the prize, rather than on notoriety or who you know from the fandom. As soon as the voting closes, we’re going to update the gallery and put all the artists’ names back on the works.

Now for a word on voting! You can only select one submission that you believe should win, so think it over and vote with your heart!

Where to vote: scroll down and click the ‘vote here’ button after you have viewed the gallery.

How to vote: carefully look through the gallery and choose your submission. Cast your eyes to the top of your selected image and locate the number assigned to the submission. Go to our ‘vote here’ section and select the corresponding number from the list in our google form.

Once you have done this, hit submit. But be sure of your vote because you can only vote once with your email.

Before you hit submit, make sure to include your email at the top of the form (you will not be able to submit unless you’ve done this step).

Voting window: Voting opens at 12.15 am on November 6 and will close at midnight on November 7 (this is all in EST)

Announcement of winner: November 8!

Prize: the winner will receive a copy of “Kris” by Karin Boye. This is the LGBTQ book that Simon and Wilhelm’s group read in class where they have that groundbreaking conversation that helps them work out their issues with each other (thank God for 18th-century lesbians!). The book was originally published in Swedish, but it is also available in English. The winner can decide which language they want their copy in.

If the winner is open to a feature being written about them, a small interview and an article will be written about them and their art and published in the digital magazine. This is optional, however, and if the winner is not comfortable with this, we’re fine with that.

Finally, once the winner is selected, this article will be edited to feature the winner at the top of the page, followed by the rest of the submissions with the owner of the work credited to them.

To select the winner, click through the gallery below.
