Uncoupled: A first look at Neil Patrick Harris’ new queer show
Lately, it feels like the gays just keeping winning, winning, and more winning. Netflix are definitely trying to represent the queer community at the moment, and today they announced their first look at their new show Uncoupled, starring the O.G Neil Patrick Harris.
They’re keeping a pretty tight lid on this one, and despite releasing a trailer today, not a lot is known about the show so far – so folks, this will really be a short teaser for today. Netflix has our attention though, we love us some Neil Patrick Harris in this house and from what we can deduce from the trailer, it looks like an authentic queer story. And you know us, we absolutely love those!
After seventeen years of marriage, Michael’s (Neil Patrick Harris) husband calls it quits and shows himself out the door. Michael is clearly taken aback by this development since he thought things were just peachy. Now, he is confronted not only with a failed marriage, but with a new life as a single, gay man in New York City in his forties.
Watch the trailer here for all the lols! (also NPH, please don’t assault the roses, they don’t deserve it!)
Uncoupled is created and executively produced by legends Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman – who both have smash hit success television shows under their belts. Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Neil Patrick Harris himself have all signed on as executive producers as well.
Uncoupled has eight, thirty minute episodes to binge in its first season, and honestly, it looks like a real treat! We can’t wait to watch!
Season 1 of Uncoupled will be available to stream globally on Netflix on July 29, so mark your calendars queers! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all queer stuff!
