The Umbrella Academy Season 4: It’s the Final Timeline!
We’re soooo back, brellies! The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. After Netflix had us constantly refreshing our feeds all day, the long-awaited teaser trailer for the final season of The Umbrella Academy is out—and of course, it doesn’t disappoint. The tagline? It’s the final timeline!
And yes, with the iconic song The Final Countdown by Europe as its official soundtrack, the teaser trailer shows the Hargreeves siblings getting back in action and heading to what seems to be a rescue mission. Who are they rescuing and why? We have no clue, and honestly? We don’t care, if the teaser trailer is anything to go by, this final season promises to be its best yet.
There’s action, there’s tension, there are time-jumps, fights, unprompted dance sequences—your classic The Umbrella Academy stuff and we seriously can’t wait!
A few months ago, on the 5th anniversary of the TV show’s debut on Netflix, we shared with y’all the release date and character posters for this finale season (if you missed them you can check them out here). Back then, we wondered what would happen to our favorite siblings now that in the new timeline, they had no powers.
After watching the teaser tho, we have almost the same questions: What lies ahead for the Hargreeves siblings? Will they reclaim their powers and restore the timeline one last time? Will they finally get rid of Sir Reginald? It seems that their powers are back and the big evil this season is their own father, but with this show, we never know what can happen. So your guesses are as good as ours, but we can’t wait to find out when The Umbrella Academy Season 4 hits our screens on August 8.
In the meantime, you can check out the teaser trailer below and get hyped for the epic conclusion:
As per Netflix’s official logline, this final season of The Umbrella Academy will see our favorite dysfunctional family after the dramatic events at the Hotel Oblivion. “The Hargreeves siblings have scattered after the climactic showdown at the Hotel Oblivion led to a complete reset of their timeline. Stripped of their powers, each is left to fend for themselves and find a new normal — with wildly varying degrees of success. Yet the trappings of their uncanny new world prove too hard to ignore for very long.
“Their father Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire. A mysterious association known as The Keepers holds clandestine meetings believing the reality they’re living in is a lie and a great reckoning is coming. As these strange new forces conspire around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together one last time — and risk upsetting the shaky peace they’ve all endured so much to secure — to finally set things right.”
The Umbrella Academy is created by Steve Blackman and based on the comic book series by Gabriel Bá and Gerard Way. Production is under UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, for Netflix. Returning cast members for Season 4 include Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, Colm Feore, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross.
Keep an eye on this space for more information about the fourth and final season as we get closer to the release date. Mark your calendars and start the countdown for the final timeline!
