The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy Is Back—And This Time, the Whole World’s Invited
We don’t often get the chance to write about shows like this, mainly because they’re still way too rare. LGBTQ+-hosted children’s variety shows are practically unicorns in the media landscape, which makes this announcement even more exciting: The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy is back for a second season, and it’s bringing even more joy, glitter, and heart than before.
According to the official press release, this new season “is packed with more fabulousness, more inclusivity, and more fun for the whole family!” And here’s the extra good news: The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy is premiering globally for the first time ever, starting May 10, with episodes dropping weekly on YouTube. That means no matter where you are, you (and the little ones in your life) can tune in and soak up all the magic.

For those just discovering it, The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy is a vibrant, cabaret-style variety show aimed at preschoolers and hosted by drag entertainers and early childhood educators Fay Slift (Jean-Paul “JP” Kane) and Fluffy Soufflé (Kaleb Robertson). Each colorful 11-minute episode features storytelling, music, puppetry, and animation, all designed to promote inclusivity, empathy, and a love of reading.
At its heart, this show is about celebrating our differences, encouraging self-love, and spreading kindness. Fay and Fluffy, with their iconic wigs and larger-than-life fashion, read beloved children’s books, chat with puppet pals, and welcome guests from all walks of life. It’s fun, it’s educational, and it’s unapologetically queer in the best and most joyful way possible.

The show’s impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. It won the 2023 Shaw Rocket Fund Kids’ Choice Award, took home the Youth Media Alliance Award of Excellence for Best Preschool Series, was a finalist at the 2023 Japan Prize, and nabbed five Canadian Screen Award nominations. Produced by Canada’s Lopii Productions and distributed globally by Sinking Ship Entertainment, Fay and Fluffy has already made waves, and Season 2 is about to take things to a whole new level.
Expect everything you loved from Season 1: our fabulous hosts, fan-favorite puppet pals, musical numbers you’ll want to dance along to, and meaningful conversations with their young studio audience. This season also brings exciting new faces to the studio, including LGBTQ+ comedian and content creator Kalen Allen, Grammy-winning hip-hop children’s group Alphabet Rockers, disability advocate Spencer West, Bollywood dancer Vaishnavi Naik, Olympian Jayna Hefford, and many more.
But don’t take our word for it, check out the Season 2 teaser trailer below and get ready to feel the fabulousness!
We truly cannot stress enough how vital a show like this is right now. In a year where LGBTQ+ communities across the globe have faced serious setbacks—from rollbacks in rights to ongoing attacks on queer and trans visibility—shows like The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy feel like a bright, bold act of resistance. And more than that, they feel like hope.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about giving kids the tools to be kind, to be proud of themselves, and to embrace what makes them unique. It’s about showing children that families, communities, and love come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and that they are all worth celebrating.
So whether you’re a parent, an educator, or just someone who believes in the power of fabulous storytelling, tune in. Let’s celebrate this joyful, inclusive show and the important message it brings: that everyone deserves to shine exactly as they are.
