The Endless Family Is Complete: The Sandman Season 2 Casting Announcement

Hey, Sandman fans! We’ve got some exciting news for you today—Netflix just announced the full casting for The Sandman Season 2, and the Endless family is finally complete. Back in November, after the Hollywood strikes were resolved, Neil Gaiman (the genius behind the comics and the show) let us know that production was back on in London. However, no new casting news had been made public until today. The biggest question many fans, ourselves included, had was who would play the rest of the Endless family members we hadn’t seen yet in the show.

In Season 1, we met Dream (Tom Sturridge), Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and Despair (Donna Preston). But we were still waiting to see Destiny, Delirium, and The Prodigal. So, who’s joining the Endless family in Season 2, you ask? Drumroll, please! Adrian Lester is taking on the role of Destiny, Esmé Creed-Miles will play Delirium, and Barry Sloane is The Prodigal.

Adrian Lester is known for his work in the TV show Hustle, the movie The Day After Tomorrow, and the classic Primary Colors. He’s also a theatre legend, having played iconic roles like Othello, Henry V, Rosalind, and Hamlet. Esmé Creed-Miles starred in the Amazon Prime series Hanna and the Paramount+ period drama The Doll Factory. She’s also been in films like Pond Life and Silver Haze. Barry Sloane is best known for his roles in Revenge and Six, and he even voiced Captain Price in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Now that the Seven Endless are complete, we can’t wait to see them all in action. Check out the announcement video below!

In case you need a quick refresher, The Sandman follows Dream, aka the Sandman, the King of dreams and nightmares. After being captured and held prisoner for over a century in the waking world, he escapes and returns to his realm to fix the chaos that unfolded during his absence. The events have turned the worlds of The Dreaming (where we go when we sleep) and The Waking upside down. The relationship between Dream and his ethereal siblings is nothing short of complicated, so we can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in these new episodes of The Sandman with these new additions.

Keep an eye on our website for more updates about The Sandman’s new season. In the meantime, you can rewatch Season 1 of The Sandman or check out Death and Despair in the spin-off Dead Boy Detectives—which by the way is brills!
