Heartstopper Season 2: Netflix has debuted the official trailer & released new photos!

It’s here, it’s finally here folks! Just 8 days away from the premiere of the second season of Heartstopper, Netflix has debuted the official trailer along with new photos that give us a broader look at what will happen this season.

As Netflix had already anticipated with the season’s teaser, not everything will be floating leaves and flowers for our favorites this time around, as Nick (Kit Connor), Charlie (Joe Locke), Elle (Yasmin Finney), Tao (Will Gao), Tara (Corinna Brown), Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) and Isaac (Tobie Donovan) will all go through ups and downs as they navigate the turbulent waters of adolescence.

In the nearly 3-minute trailer debuted today, we get to see Nick and Charlie enjoying their relationship like the two lovesick boys that they are, but at the same time we see them dealing with the fact that Nick, despite what happened at the end of the first season, hasn’t fully come out. Does this mean trouble in paradise for these two? We highly doubt it, what Charlie says, “I want you to come out when and how you want to,” seems reasuring enough.

However, not everything can be perfect and we’re sure that once the cat is out of the bag, more than one character will become a problem. But we’re not worried, there’s nothing these two boys can’t face together.

On the other hand we have Elle and Tao who finally seem to be willing to accept their feelings for each other. There is fear and doubt, and we understand why, Tao’s “if this doesn’t work out, then I lose my best friend in the whole world,” is something we all have said when we have fallen in love with a friend, so we get it. But maybe Paris is the right place for them to finally be honest with what they feel and take that big step, don’t y’all think? After all it is the city of love, so we’re crossing our fingers for a Elle and Tao love confession!

Tara and Darcy seem to be the ones who are taking the bumpiest road this season, and that hurts. The communication and verbalization of feelings seems to be something that Tara needs more than Darcy, and that disparity is causing friction between the couple. But as with the rest of the couples in this universe, we are sure that our girls will know how to overcome this obstacle and come out victorious. We have full faith in our girls. Let’s go lesbians!

A pleasant surprise in the debuted trailer, besides seeing Imogen (Rhea Norwood) become part of the group of friends (the girl deserves it, she was very supportive of Nick), was seeing that our fellow bookworm Isaac seems to have found love too, or at least an important connection with a new character. Will that relationship be romantic or just a friendship? The sparks are there and we want to know what happens between them, but we guess only time will tell.

But anygays, enough with our rambling. Enjoy the trailer and pictures below, fam, and don’t forget that the second season of Heartstopper will hit our screens on August 3, so save the date and come scream with us on socials!

See you soon! And please, carry on being gay.
