Frankie Grande Drops Flirty New Single ‘Boys’
Frankie Grande is in his pop star era, and honestly, we’re living for it. The multi-talented performer, actor, and activist just dropped Boys, a brand-new single and music video that’s already setting off our summer playlist. And that’s not all, he’s also announced the release date of his upcoming debut album Hotel Rock Bottom, landing June 27 (you can pre-save it here).
So, what can we expect from Boys? In short: pure queer joy on the dance floor. This is a song made to be turned all the way up. If “Boys” doesn’t get you dancing within the first ten seconds, check your pulse. It’s a bold, synth-heavy banger that feels made for sweaty Pride parties, late-night club moments, and twirling under disco lights. Frankie’s vocals are full throttle and flirty, with lyrics that flirt, tease, and fully embrace the freedom of being out, loud, and proud. It’s pure pop with a wink, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Inspired by Cyndi Lauper’s iconic Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Frankie flips the original catchphrase into something joyously queer: boys just wanna get some. Frankie describes the song as “my unapologetically queer twist on a pop classic—because boys just wanna get some! I wrote it about a magical trip to Fire Island for Pride where I felt totally free, fierce, and fabulous. This track is a ‘gay Pride’ summer anthem for anyone who’s ever danced all night, kissed under the stars, and lived their truth out loud!” Honestly? Mission accomplished.
Boys comes with a steamy new music video produced in partnership with MISTR, the largest LGBTQ+ telehealth platform for sexual health, offering free access to PrEP and DoxyPEP. Directed by MISTR’s own creative director Philip Henry and edited by Ron Katagiri, the video is a steamy, high-energy fantasy set in a men’s sauna. And you know what? Frankie is absolutely serving vocals, body, and unapologetic queer confidence.
But don’t just take our word for it. Go ahead, hit play, and see for yourself:
Boys follows the March release of Rhythm of Love, another high-energy bop that had us spinning on the dance floor and showed us that Frankie Grande is serious about claiming space in pop. And with Hotel Rock Bottom just around the corner, we’re ready to turn the volume up and let this Pride season play out in full color.
We’ll see you on the dance floor.
Boys is available to stream on every major music platform. You can pre-save Hotel Rock Bottom here. Follow us on X and Instagram for all queer stuff!
