‘Am I OK?’ Arriving on Max Just in Time for Pride Month!

Hello, folks! We’ve got some exciting news to share just in time for an early Pride Month celebration! The heartfelt comedy-drama film Am I OK? starring Dakota Johnson and Sonoya Mizuno will be arriving on Max on June 6. And trust us, you won’t want to miss this one!

Am I OK? centers around the beautiful and complicated friendship between Lucy (Johnson), and Jane (Mizuno). These two ladies are the epitome of best friends, understanding each other on a level most of us can only dream of. However, their bond faces a huge test when Jane lands a job promotion that means she’ll be moving to London.

This life-changing news forces Lucy to confront her own insecurities and a secret she’s been holding onto tightly: she realizes she’s attracted to women and begins to explore her sexuality.

What makes Am I OK? so special is how it captures the emotional rollercoaster of coming out later in life. Lucy’s journey of self-discovery is both touching and relatable, navigating the fear of losing her best friend and the shifts in their relationship. The film strikes a perfect balance between humor and drama, providing a heartfelt exploration of identity, friendship, and personal growth.

Directed by the talented duo Stephanie Allynne and Tig Notaro, and penned by Lauren Pomerantz, Am I OK? has garnered praise for its authentic portrayal of the LGBTQ+ experience and the undeniable chemistry between its leads. The supporting cast is stellar, featuring Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, and Tig Notaro, who all add depth to this already rich narrative.

We are so thrilled to see such a genuine and touching story being highlighted, especially during Pride Month. Am I OK? is more than just a film; it’s a celebration of self-discovery and the power of true friendship. So, mark your calendars for June 6, grab some popcorn, and get ready to laugh, cry, and everything in between.

Let us know what you think of the film once it’s out and how it resonated with you! We’ll be here, eagerly awaiting to hear all about your thoughts and feelings.

Happy early Pride Month, everyone!
