Today, Netflix announced the return of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, and not only did we get a release date for Season 2, we also got to meet the new couples who’ll be putting their relationships to the test. Let’s just say: the drama, the love, the queer chaos? We’re ready.
First things first, the release date. The first batch of episodes drops on June 25, with the second wave landing on July 2. So whether you’re pregaming for the parade or recovering from a weekend of queer joy, you’ll have some fresh reality TV to binge. Talk about perfect timing.
Hosted this season by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, The Ultimatum: Queer Love is expanding its universe of messy, emotional, beautiful queer stories. The official synopsis says it best: this season follows six new couples—made up of women and non-binary people—who are at a crossroads. One partner wants to get married, the other’s not so sure. So, they issue an ultimatum. Over the course of just eight weeks, each couple will split up, date other people from the group, and explore new possible futures. In the end, they’ll have to decide: get married or get out.
