The Four Seasons Season 2 First Look Teases New Vacations Ahead as Netflix Sets May Premiere

We finally have a return date for one of Netflix’s most charming friend-group comedies, and honestly, it already has us daydreaming about our next vacation. Yesterday, Netflix unveiled The Four Seasons Season 2 first look, confirming that the heartfelt comedy created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield will return with an eight-episode second season on May 28. Alongside the announcement, the streamer also released a batch of first-look photos teasing what lies ahead for the show’s delightfully chaotic group of friends.

The upcoming season will once again follow these six longtime friends as they take four different vacations over the course of a year—a premise that proved to be the perfect playground for messy dynamics, emotional revelations, and plenty of comedic mishaps in Season 1. While Netflix is keeping most plot details under wraps for now, the new images offer a few hints about where our favorite travelers might be heading next.

In the photos, the group can be seen soaking up the sun on the beach, trekking through mountainous landscapes, and enjoying a well-earned glass (or two) of wine together. Meanwhile, Ginny (Erika Henningsen) is spotted proudly cradling her baby bump while gazing out over a scenic vista with Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), suggesting that the next chapter will pick up with the major life changes teased at the end of Season 1.

Returning for the new season are series regulars Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen, and Colman Domingo, bringing back the ensemble chemistry that made the first season such a fun watch.

For those who may need a quick refresher, the series is inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name and centers on a tight-knit group of friends—Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), Kate (Tina Fey), Jack, (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell), and Anne—who reconnect on seasonal getaways. The concept keeps the focus squarely on those trips, letting viewers watch the friendships unfold in the unique bubble that vacations tend to create, where emotions run high, secrets come out, and dynamics shift in unexpected ways.

Season 1 took viewers on four distinct trips: first to Nick and Anne’s lakehouse, then to a tropical eco-resort, followed by a parents’ weekend reunion at their old college, and finally a snowy ski getaway. But those idyllic escapes quickly became more complicated when Nick and Anne’s marriage fell apart, and Nick began dating Ginny, his dental hygienist, forcing the group to confront shifting dynamics within their decades-long friendships.

The season ended with a major emotional twist when, warning for spoilers, Nick died in a sudden car accident while traveling with Ginny and her friends. In the aftermath, the group reunited for his funeral, where Ginny revealed to Anne that she was pregnant with Nick’s child, setting the stage for some complicated feelings and even more complicated vacations ahead.

So yes, The Four Seasons Season 2 first look may only give us a glimpse of what’s coming next, but it’s already enough to get us excited. Check them out in the gallery below.

So go ahead and mark your calendars for May 28, folks. We’ll be clearing our schedules, stocking up on snacks and wine, and maybe even pretending our couch is a luxury resort while we binge the new season. After all, if we can’t join the vacation ourselves, the next best thing is watching this crew do it for us.
