Somebody Somewhere
This critically acclaimed HBO dramedy follows Sam (played by Bridget Everett), a middle-aged woman grieving the loss of her sister while navigating life in small-town Kansas. What begins as a story about loss slowly blooms into one about chosen family and the queer spaces we create when the world gives us none.
At the heart of the show is Sam’s friendship with Joel, a gay coworker who helps her rediscover joy, music, and a sense of belonging. Somebody Somewhere is refreshingly queer, quietly radical, and full of the kind of everyday beauty that makes you want to call your best friend and hug them tight.

We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian
Set in the smoky, sharply suited world of 1950s New York journalism, We Could Be So Good is a gorgeously slow-burn queer romance between two very different men trying to make space for love in a time that doesn’t allow it.

Nick Russo is hard-edged and street-smart, determined to keep his sexuality hidden. Andy Fleming is the sweet, slightly chaotic heir to a publishing empire who finds himself accidentally falling for his newsroom mentor. Together, they navigate office politics, late-night copy deadlines, and the electric charge of a friendship becoming something more.
Cat Sebastian masterfully captures both the era’s tension and the tenderness of two people daring to believe that love—even forbidden love—might be worth the risk.
Where to buy? We Could Be So Good is available to purchase at all reputable booksellers.

Rocketman
This 2019 musical biopic about Elton John isn’t just a retelling of his rise to superstardom—it’s a dazzling, heart-wrenching journey through queerness, addiction, fame, and ultimately self-acceptance. Directed by Dexter Fletcher and starring Taron Egerton in a show-stopping performance, Rocketman doesn’t shy away from Elton’s relationships with men or his emotional struggles.
Told through vibrant musical numbers and flashbacks, the film becomes a fantasia of personal reckoning. It’s not just about how Elton John became a legend, it’s about how Reginald Dwight learned to love himself.
Where to watch? Rocketman is available to stream on Prime Video and Paramount+. The film is also available to rent on Apple TV+ and YouTube.
