MewTul Are Engaged: Love Wins!
Mew Suppasit Jongchaveevat publicly proposed to his long-term boyfriend Tul Pakhorn Thanasrivanitchai last night during a press conference for his new single. That’s right folks, MewTul are engaged! The couple hard-launched their relationship on social media a few months ago after it looked like Thailand was going to green-light same-sex marriage.
During the very public press conference with all eyes on them both, Suppasit got down on one knee and presented Tul with a ring, but Tul had one ready for Suppasit as well! Both of them ended up down on their knees embracing before the crowd as rings were exchanged. Afterward, off stage, Tul became very emotional and had to be consoled by his boyfriend, who hugged him as the tears flooded his face.
Rumors about their involvement followed the pair for quite some time, but they only confirmed it on Instagram with a vlog of the two of them in Mongolia with the song playing in the background ‘Have You Seen My Boyfriend?’ The pair were flooded with support from both the community in Thailand and the greater global community at large.
In addition to the Instagram post, MewTul appeared on a Thai television show openly discussing their relationship while being physically affectionate with each other on camera. Despite being together for a few years at the time the television program aired, the couple appeared to be head over heels in love with each other and seemed destined for a lifetime together.
As Thailand has now changed its laws, and same-sex people are allowed to legally marry and enjoy the same legal protections as heterosexual couples, it’s no surprise that MewTul is taking this leap. They are adored by so many around the globe and it’s lovely that they allowed their supporters to share this moment with them.
