The singer-songwriter and Bachelor alum shared the big news with their fans on Instagram, posting a sweet carousel of photos from the surprise proposal on Thursday, July 10.
“My dream girl said yes to forever…” Kiyoko captioned the post, and our hearts basically exploded.
In the first photo, Becca Tilley wraps her arms around Hayley Kiyoko, still beaming from the shock and joy of the moment. Another snapshot shows Kiyoko on one knee, holding the ring as Tilley gasps and covers her face in pure surprise. The rest of the gallery? Full-on romance. The now-engaged couple has been together for seven years, but it’s only been three since they shared their relationship publicly. Fans will remember that iconic May 2022 moment when Hayley Kiyoko brought Becca Tilley on stage during the release party for her single “For the Girls,” sealing the deal with a hug and a kiss in front of the crowd. It was a major turning point, not just for their relationship, but for LGBTQ+ visibility in pop culture.
But the love story actually started four years earlier, back in April 2018, when they first met at the release party for Kiyoko’s debut album Expectations. Talk about full circle!
