Get Ready to Dance: Boy Blu and Gregory Dillon Drop New Single ‘2 Deadly’

Did y’all think we were done with the music recs today? We’re not! It’s Friday, and we’re just hours away from kicking off Pride 2024. That’s why we’re bringing you yet another music recommendation. If you’re into tech house beats and video games, you’re in for a treat. Fantasy pop star Boy Blu has teamed up with electro-pop artist Gregory Dillon to release their latest single, 2 Deadly.

Produced by Gregory Dillon, 2 Deadly merges the underground tech house vibes of the early 2010s with the intense energy of a modern video game soundtrack. This track is perfect for those who love the intersection of electronic music and gaming culture.

Boy Blu and Gregory Dillon tap into their creative alter egos to deliver a sharp, high-energy anthem for fans of pop and EDM fusion. Boy Blu explains, “This song came from my passion for video games and my desire to create a song that made me want to dance. Gregory and I share an interest in the future of technology and how it can intersect with music. The inspiration for this song also comes from my personal insecurities; I envisioned it as a way to transform myself, to build confidence and present a more empowered version of me to the world. It’s about feeling incredibly sexy and just ‘2 Deadly.’”

When discussing their collaboration, Boy Blu adds, “Everything we collaborate on feels incredibly natural. I can share a vague idea of a sound or an image I’m drawn to, and he has the remarkable ability to expand on it and turn it into something extraordinary. His talent is truly one-of-a-kind.”

The music video for 2 Deadly is a stylish nod to ’90s video game aesthetics, incorporating cutting-edge tech with adaptive body suits that capture the artists’ movements in real-time. Directed and animated by Zack Stauffer, the video features Boy Blu and Gregory Dillon as cyber warriors in a futuristic showdown. The video’s blend of futuristic visuals and dynamic choreography perfectly complements the track’s energetic vibe.

But don’t just take our word for it—check it out in the link below!

Wasn’t it like stepping into a video game? And that’s exactly what Big Blue wanted to achieve. “I am an avid gamer and have always dreamed of being fully immersed in a video game and the idea of being captivated by your screen. What better way to do this than by creating a visual experience where we become the characters in the game?” He shared. “By utilizing Unreal Engine 5 to create a captivating world that merges the gaming universe with the energy of pop music and choreography, we brought my vision to life.”
