First Trailer for ‘On Swift Horses’ Previews a Romance Fueled by Passion and Gambling
After the exciting news that On Swift Horses will close the SXSW Film & TV Festival in March and hit theaters nationwide in the U.S. on April 25, it was only a matter of time before Sony Pictures Classics dropped the film’s first trailer. And now, the wait is over.
Based on Shannon Pufahl’s novel, On Swift Horses tells a deeply emotional story of love, longing, and the risks we take to find ourselves. The film follows Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her husband Lee (Will Poulter) as they start fresh in California after Lee’s return from the Korean War. Their seemingly stable life is quickly disrupted by the arrival of Lee’s brother, Julius (Jacob Elordi), a charismatic but restless gambler with a mysterious past. As tensions rise and unspoken desires surface, Julius embarks on a journey in search of Henry (Diego Calva), a young card cheat he’s fallen for. Meanwhile, Muriel finds herself drawn into a secret world of high-stakes horse racing and a love she never imagined possible.
