Crave Releases Heated Rivalry Sneak Peek Ahead of Season Premiere
As we’re getting ready for next week’s two-hour premiere of Heated Rivalry, Crave clearly felt our collective queer anticipation building and decided to give us something to help us survive the weekend: a brand-new, two-minute Heated Rivalry sneak peek from the season premiere and a handful of freshly released production stills from Episode 1. We know, we know! We’re screaming, squealing, kicking, and spinning in our chairs right along with you. This is not a drill.
The clip itself is short, sweet, and hotter than a slapshot straight to the heart. In just two minutes, we get a taste of the undeniable chemistry between Shane (Hudson Williams) and Ilya (Connor Storrie), our fave hockey superstars whose “rivalry” has never fooled any of us. Even in the tiniest slice of small talk, these two are radiating enough tension to melt the entire rink. It’s ON FIRE, folks. Like… someone please check if the rink’s sprinkler system is working, because the tension is that out of control.
And listen, we know they’re just chatting. We know it’s literally the most casual, mildest exchange imaginable—the kind that absolutely should not make us feel deranged. And yet here we are, absolutely feral, because it is so clear they both want each other’s cookie SO BAD. That unnecessary-but-very-telling lingering touch, that hovering spark, that unspoken “we shouldn’t but we absolutely will” energy? Yeah. We felt all of it. But don’t take our word for it. Created by Jacob Tierney, the upcoming six-episode series is adapted from Rachel Reid’s best-selling Game Changers novels and produced in partnership with Accent Aigu Entertainment. The romantic drama follows Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry, and that magnetic pull neither can fully ignore.
What begins as a secret spark between two fresh-faced rookies evolves into an eight-year journey of love, denial, self-discovery, and the kind of queer yearning that hits harder than a playoff overtime goal. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t outrun, Shane and Ilya must decide if there’s room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile—and as powerful—as real love.
