Crave Drops The Heated Rivalry Trailer, and It’s Everything We Hoped For (and Then Some)
The wait’s over! Crave has hit the ice with the Heated Rivalry trailer, and trust us, it’s a total hat trick of heart, heat, and hockey. Created by Jacob Tierney, the upcoming six-part series is adapted from Rachel Reid’s best-selling Game Changers book series and produced in partnership with Accent Aigu Entertainment. The long-awaited love story is set in the high-stakes world of hockey, and if the trailer is any indication, we’re about to witness a queer romance that’ll melt the ice right beneath our skates.
“I wanted to bring Heated Rivalry to life and share its shameless, funny, epic, sexy, and deeply romantic journey with the world,” said Tierney to Crave. “When I first spoke to Rachel Reid, I told her I wanted to approach this book with the care and seriousness it deserves, because it truly does. Shane and Ilya deserve that. And so does the queer community—a love story complete with the kind of happy ending gay people almost never get in media.”
Along with the trailer, Crave announced that Heated Rivalry will premiere its first two episodes on Friday, November 28, so you might want to mark your calendars because we’ve got a date on the hockey rink. The six-episode, one-hour romantic drama tells the story of rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie). What begins as a secret fling ignites into an all-consuming blaze and culminates in a powerful, unapologetically queer love story. It’s the kind of show that promises to make us scream at the TV and melt all at once; the perfect storm of passion, tension, and tenderness.

In Heated Rivalry, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them can fully understand. What starts as a secret connection between two fresh-faced rookies evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery. Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there’s room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile—and as powerful—as real love.
