Beauty queens Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín tie the knot!

Pageant queens from Argentina and Puerto Rico, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín are married. The couple, who until today had kept the status of their relationship private, tied the knot on October 28 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It was through a joint Instagram post that the newlywed couple shared the happy news with their followers and fans. “After deciding to keep our relationship private, we open you the doors to it on a special day.” The caption read.

The Instagram Reel – which has more than 3 million views and over 222,000 likes as of Wednesday night – features a compilation of candid moments between the couple while vacationing together in Mexico and Puerto Rico, as well as their intimate proposal and wedding day.

Although very few details about their relationship are known, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín met during the Miss Grand International pageant back in 2020, where they both finished in the Top 10.

Since sharing their happy news with the world, the couple has received an outpouring of support. Abena Akuaba, who was Miss Grand USA 2020, and the first Black woman to win the Miss Grand International pageant, wrote, “Omg congratulations MGI brought together a beautiful union.”

Both Varela and Valentín have commented on the support with comments pinned to their original publication. “Thanks for all the love! We are very happy and blessed. I wish you that the love you are giving us comes back to you multiplied. Infinite thanks.” Varela said.

“How beautiful to see so much love and affection from you. We love you, you all are part of this.” Valentina added.

Argentina legalized same-sex marriage in 2010, becoming the first country in Latin America to do so, while Puerto Rico legalized it in 2015 as a result of the legalization across the U.S.
