A New Interview Begins: AMC Drops Electrifying 45-Second Teaser for The Vampire Lestat
Doing press for immortal rockstars is exhausting, folks—or dare we say, beautiful-unwell fandom. They have no concept of time, no warning system, and absolutely no hesitation when it comes to dropping teasers out of nowhere as if we’re all just telepathically plugged into their chaos. We were barely catching our breath after Lestat de Lioncourt’s (Sam Reid) debut single Long Face hit streaming platforms (and yes, we are still blasting it, and y’all should too), when AMC decided to bless and mildly attack us with a brand-new 45-second teaser for The Vampire Lestat.
Titled A New Interview Begins: The Vampire Lestat ft. Sam Reid (Side Note: We love how Reid is merely the extremely talented mortal vessel channeling this immortal menace), the teaser confirms what we’ve been suspecting from earlier glimpses: this season isn’t abandoning the interview format, it’s evolving it. If Season 1 and 2 centered around confessions and memoir-making, this time, Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) is filming a documentary. And honestly? That’s the kind of modern chaos we expect from our favorite undead diva.

The teaser wastes no time reminding us who we’re dealing with, though. When Daniel asks Lestat to state his name for the camera, Lestat doesn’t even bother raising his voice; he simply uses his telepathic powers to declare who he is. From there, we’re plunged into flashes of concert stages, roaring crowds, backstage tension, and the intoxicating blur of fame. It’s glam rock excess meets immortal ego. We get just enough glimpses of Louis (Jacob Anderson) to know that his presence—whether physical, emotional, or haunting—remains central to Lestat’s story. And when Daniel asks the question we’re all thinking, “Why music, and why now?” the season’s central tension snaps into focus.
But don’t worry, we’re not going to break down every frame. Those 45 seconds are meant to be felt, not dissected. What we will say is that the tagline “A New Interview Begins” makes it clear that this season of The Vampire Lestat is fully embracing spectacle. This isn’t just a vampire telling his story anymore. This is a self-proclaimed god stepping onto a stage and daring the world—human and vampire alike—to watch.

Summer still feels so far away, and exactly how this season will unfold remains deliciously unclear. What is clear, though, is that The Vampire Lestat is leaning all the way into its queer rock opera energy. This is vampirism as spectacle, as celebrity, as erotic self-destruction. It’s about power, performance, and the messy, magnetic pull between Lestat and Louis—arguably one of television’s most intoxicating queer relationships. Complicated? Sure. Dark and destructive? Often. Romantic? Undeniably.
As we mentioned earlier today, this new season follows Lestat on an electrifying multi-city tour while he’s haunted by muses from his rebellious past. As his band’s popularity explodes, so does his influence over both vampires and humans. But fame has consequences, especially amid the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population that threatens to tip the world into chaos. And if there’s one thing we know about Lestat, it’s that he doesn’t just survive chaos, he relishes it.
A new interview begins, indeed. The stage is set, the camera is rolling, and our immortal rockstar is ready for his close-up.
This summer can’t come soon enough.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Interview With The Vampire are available to stream on AMC+, Netflix, and Prime Video, depending on the region. The Vampire Lestat will premiere this summer. Follow us on X and Instagram for all queer stuff!
